Too Gay Tuesday: Jane Covers The Advocate, DADT Repeal Party Guidelines + More!

Actually, this Tuesday is a little less gay over here at CG as our amazing staffer Marcie has begun her transition to another awesome project. Her talents will be greatly missed and we wish her the very best in her new venture. (You can still check out her weekly Lez Review column on Monday for a bit longer, FYI.)

And now, in honor of Marcie, we’ll begin by discussing her “wifey” Jane Lynch as the cover girl in October’s issue of The Advocate. Check out the interview here, where Jane discusses everything from love scenes with Cybill Shepherd to her new book and adorable family.

In other news… we are one week away from the official 9/20 repeal of the DADT policy but groups like the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN) are warning gay and lesbian military personnel to celebrate carefully. Yesterday they released “Guidance for Service Members for Participating in DADT Repeal Events on September 20” to be sure all is in accordance with military conduct.

And finally, a few happenings in the academic gay world: members of the LGBT community at the University of Iowa are pushing for their own residence hall floor, according to The Gazzette, and The New York Times has reported that a Stanford University School of Medicine survey shows that medical schools are neglecting gay health needs.
