New Comedic Lesbian-Themed Play Premieres in Hollywood

Written by and starring Marja-Lewis Ryan (writer/producer/actor of The Four-Faced Liar), DYSNOMIA is a fast-paced, real-life family comedy about what happens when a suburban housewife comes out of the closet to her delinquent teenaged son, her precocious daughter, her buttoned-up husband, and her wine-swilling best friend. It successfully brings to life two suburban families in crisis.  Themes of love, trust, and self fulfillment are carefully woven in through witty one-liners and perfectly flawed protagonists.

The play opens Saturday night July 16th at The Lounge Theatre in Hollywood and runs Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 7pm through September 10th. CherryGRRL readers can get discounted tickets by visiting and entering the discount code: FUNNY.

Playwright Marja-Lewis Ryan is an award-winning screenwriter, best known for the feature film The Four-Faced Liar.  This 2010 sleeper hit swept the international festival circuit and took home the Emerging Artist Award (Miami, LGBT Festival) and the coveted HBO Audience Award for Best First Feature (Los Angeles, Outfest).  Ryan received critical acclaim for her sharp scripting, including: “Viewers will be intrigued and amused by this handsomely packaged indie’s clever literary allusions,” (Variety); “Ryan keeps the dialogue lively and funny,” (The Miami Herald); “The script is tight and the drama feels real and raw,” (AfterEllen).

“We were drawn to the characters,” says Jessie Warner (Producer/Actress) of DYSNOMIA, “they feel like people we all know and love…or know and loathe.”

DYSNOMIA stars theatre, film and television veterans: Heidi Sulzman, Jessie Warner, Trevor H. Olsen, Isabella Palmieri, Monroe Makowsky, Ryan Stathos and Marja-Lewis Ryan. For more visit:
