Reviewing the latest in tech, gaming, and science.
So, instead of focusing on one new piece of technology I’m going to get all of you updated on what’s to come for 2013. Revolving this week’s post on tablets.
2nd Generation Nexus 10 might be coming out in August or September. The Nexus 10 that we know costs $400.00 and has a beautiful display. Some prefer this Google tablet rather than an iPad, so if you’re one of those people this news must be exciting for you. The look will pretty much be the same but of course; there is always room for improvement. The 2nd Generation will most likely be faster with its enormous HD display.
Xperia Tablet Z has been announced by Sony. It’ll be coming out as the world’s thinnest and lightest 10.1-inch tablet. The Xperia Z smartphone will share a major feature with its newest family member; fully waterproof. The tablet will be running on Android Jelly Bean and the specs seem pretty intense. There’s an 8.1 megapixel camera within the device and has a micro SD slot. Since it’s a Sony, it’ll also come fully equipped with the “S-Force” virtual surround sound technology.
According to Sammobile, the Galaxy Note 8.0 comes in two versions, the Wi-Fi only version and of course the version you can hook up to 3G/Wi-Fi. The 8.0 stands for the 8 inches the new tablet measures up to. The tablet will have a 5 megapixel camera in the back with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The Note device will also be running on Jelly Bean. The device will be presented at the Mobile World Congress this year in Barcelona which is in late February.
If you’re anything like my girlfriend and like to let new technology be revised and released a second time maybe the iPad Mini 2 is more for you. It could be coming out as early as March and it’s supposedly fixing a lot of the problems the original mini is seeing. Experts have been saying the original mini’s experience isn’t as great as the iPad. This is because the specs for it are worse, like the RAM and processor. March isn’t really that far away if you think about it.
Have a kid? This tablet is brand new and just came out. It’s called the Polaroid Kids Tablet. This whole idea of tablets for children is pretty mind-boggling considered in the 90s childhood (depending on where you are) relied on manhunt, Pokemon, Barbies or Hess trucks. If you were really cool you were playing Oregon Trail on your desktop computer and having your parents pull the plug for bed time ruining your journey across the impossibly deep river. Regardless, this generation is quite the lucky one. This tablet is running on Android 4.0 and has built in parental controls. There are bumpers on the back so if it’s dropped it won’t shatter. It’s pretty cool, your kids will love you.
