Nerdy Grrl Report: iO Tillett Wright’s TED Talk

If you haven’t seen a TED Talk, you’re missing out on valuable information that can stay with you for a lifetime. No matter what you’re in to, TED Talks will inspire you and encourage you towards whatever it is you aspire.

You can learn about how body language could change your success, what your brain looks like on love, myths, corruption, how school is useless, and the future of us. You can even find courageous people telling their own stories and speaking out for their cause.

iO Tillett Wright has photographed 2,000 people who vary on the LGBTQ spectrum. She wants to know where you draw the line when it comes to discrimination since there isn’t a directness into who is what and why.

iO Tillett Wright herself fits on this LGBTQ spectrum. She grew up in downtown New York and decided she was a boy until she was 14 years old. Now, she’s an artist who has a goal of 10,000 raw portraits of people who are somewhat straight, somewhat gay or simply gay and straight in her nation-wide project named Self Evident Truths.
