So it’s 4:00 a.m. in NY on November 6th and I’m finishing up a paper for literary studies, I refresh Instagram at one point and bam, Halo 4. I turn my phone over, and then probably about .5 seconds later I refresh Instagram again and then what do you know? Another one of my friends got Halo 4. I’m pissed at this point. I hate this paper, I loved Shirley Jackson on the 8th page and now I literally wish she died earlier on in life so I wouldn’t have to keep writing so much. Now I’m realizing Halo 4 came out, I’ve been so swamped I didn’t even think to pre-order it.
I’m going to be honest with you. I bought Halo Reach in hopes my love for Halo would be reignited. It didn’t happen. The trailer for Halo 4 though, it’s reminding me of why I would introduce my friends in high school to Halo to get them into video games. You go 343 Industries, you bring back that emotion.
This game looks sick, the actions from the characters are so realistic looking since the same motion techniques were used from James Cameron ideas for Avatar. What I love about this game is that we get two main characters for the price of one. The first is Master Chief – who’s obviously a boss and is pretty much everyone’s savior – and the other is Cortana, whose voice is pretty damn soothing for a babe of such intelligence. Although it’s two stories, if you know anything about Halo at all, Cortana and Master Chief have held each other together since the beginning.
Another great aspect about Halo that not every other game series has are the numerous different ways to play it. I can’t even list them all – that’s how many there are – but let’s just say if you don’t enjoy campaign mode, you have nothing to worry about.
If you bought the game already and have been playing it nonstop since Tuesday, tell me about it! I’m planning on buying it this weekend and I’d love to know what you think.
