Saturday July 4, 2009 may be Independence Day in the US, but in London, it’s Pride!
The festivities in London will include the Pride Parade at 1pm, Soho & Squares from 3-8pm, the Festival, and Pride After Parties.
COME OUT and PLAY, is the theme of London’s 2009 event and with that as their title you can expect the annual LGBT Pride Parade to be a cavalcade of color and fun through the streets of London. As usual they will set off from Baker Street at 1pm and proceed down Oxford Street and Regent Street taking in some of the major sites of London as they swing round through Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square.
In Trafalgar Square you’ll find an eclectic mix of speakers, stalls, and a great line up of main stage performers from 3 p.m. Alternatively, head into Soho where you’ll find the streets closed to traffic and a street party in full swing.
Additionally, July 4th is not the only day of celebration as they have a full Pride London Festival Fortnight from that has been running since June 20th and will continue through July 5th.
Every year huge crowds pack the streets of London to watch the spectacular parade of celebrities, floats, and performers celebrating the UK’s largest gay and lesbian festival.
