CG: Being on the show definitely put you in that “celesbian” category, but with your background in studying kinesiology and pursuing a career in health and fitness it doesn’t seem like fame was necessarily something that you were seeking. So what has your reaction been to suddenly becoming someone who was recognized and in the public eye? Has it been fun for you?

BS: It’s fun in the sense that it makes people interested in what I do and they ask more questions. So that’s fun because I love to teach about what I do. But then there were also times after the show where it’s like, I felt so violated because it wasn’t my character and it wasn’t me at all. I mean reality TV… there is no reality TV. There are scripts and there is editing. So yeah, it comes out and you’re like “Oh my God. We never said that. We never did that. That’s 2 different days in one episode.” So it was actually really violating and really hard because I would go out and some people would be like “Oh my God I loved you on the show.” Or they would be like “Oh my God – I can’t believe you and Jackie…” and this and that. So it was really hard because it did feel like it wasn’t my character so I didn’t know how to respond. If that makes any sense.

CG: It does. And with Advanced P.E., as the Producer, you were in control of how things were presented. Would you ever give up that control and do another reality TV show again?

BS: Umm, probably not. Because I know what happens behind it. I would basically just want to ask the producers, “Would you do the show?” That would be my main question. Because being involved and knowing how it works, yeah… No. Probably not. I would do more documentary style, like I did with Advanced P.E., where nothing was scripted and it was just basically more on them and not my life. Because that would just teach people. And don’t get me wrong, I enjoy some of the reality drama stuff, but I don’t want to be involved in it.

CG: Just watching it is better.

BS: (laughs) Totally.

CG: Now, Jackie Warner isn’t the only kind of high profile woman that you have been linked to. Mariah Hanson just did an interview with After Ellen where she discussed your past relationship and had great things to say. So what is it that you look for in the women that you date? What do you find attractive?

BS: I definitely like strong personalities, confidence, those who can hold their own ground. Like, I love when you can go into an event or a party and you don’t have to baby-sit each other and you can be clear across the room and still have that connection and that intensity. Also, if I am in a room and clear across from my partner I want to be able to trust that that is my other half and I don’t have to worry about what she’s doing or what she’s saying or how she’s behaving or handling herself. It’s like, they are your other half when you are with them. So definitely strong personality, funny, witty, confident…

CG: And they probably have to be in good shape and care about their health and fitness?

BS: Yeah, it’s kind of hard – I definitely live the lifestyle. I am mostly raw, as well. I am definitely into nutrition and I teach that. So it’s a lifestyle, yeah. It’s not the typical, “Hi, how are you? What’s your favorite color?” It’s like, okay, well I am vegan, I’m raw – and they can eat whatever they want, of course. But they have to be open to my lifestyle. And yeah, it definitely works better when you want to go to the gym together and you’re both working out and want to be healthy.

CG: So what is your current status? Are you dating anyone?

BS: I am dating, yes. It’s new and fresh. It’s good. (laughs)

CG: Fair answer. So, in addition to the health and fitness and your involvement with The Dinah, you are also involved with Jetsetter – the big Thursday night party in LA. What is your role with that?

BS: I started Jetsetter myself probably about three years ago. Right when I moved to Los Angeles. I started it really just for an excuse to go back home to San Francisco to visit once a month. So I threw the event there once a month and it was very successful and I did it for about a year and then it just got too hard, going back and forth. So Mariah and I teamed up and pulled in a friend of ours named Tracy and we started Jetsetter here and we teamed up with Club Skirts and we do it weekly here on Thursdays. And I am actually going to start it in San Francisco probably in the next 2 months, monthly. And we’ve also been in contact with New York and plan to do one up in Chicago. So we call it Jetsetter because we don’t want a home base – we want to bounce around.

CG: Sounds like a good plan. That’s very exciting about New York. Do you have an idea of when that might happen?

BS: Probably in the next 5 months. We’ve been in contact with them for a few months now. It’s just a matter of putting a date on it and then promoting it. And I would also like to team up with local promoters there so they don’t feel like we’re competing with them. So it’s more like we are just working with them.

CG: So in combining your two areas of interest, what are your tips on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle while also enjoying things like nightlife and parties like The Dinah?

BS: I would say honestly just start with proper food combining. And that’s eating whatever they eat in their normal lifestyle but, for example, let’s say a sandwich – everyone thinks that a sandwich is a great thing for lunch, and it is, but when you mix meat and bread, that’s starch and protein. That’s improper food combining. That actually confuses your digestive system. So it would be easier on your body and on your weight control if you wanted a sandwich and you wanted the bread then just get like a vegetable sandwich. Maybe avocado sprouts, cucumbers, and bread. And if you wanted the meat instead then just get a lettuce wrap. And I have a lot of blogs out too – I have  Female Fyi online magazine where I do blogs and explain more of the food combining. But that’s what I would say for starting out is simple food combining. And next I would do raw during the day, and cooked at night. Because you have more hours to digest.

CG: And as far as drinking and alcohol… what are your tips for that?

BS: With alcohol, mix everything with soda water instead of tonic. It’s less sugar. And, if you can, just mix it with plain water because it hydrates you as the alcohol is dehydrating you, so it kind of balances you out. Wine is good, sake is good – cold unpasteurized sake is good. And then a lot of people think that dark liquor is worse for you than clear liquor, which clear is less of an odor the next day and less of a hangover, but actually whiskey is not bad when it comes to sugar and carbs – if you do whiskey with water.

CG: Definitely good tips for people getting ready for the Dinah!

BS: (laughs) Yes.
