It’s the end of the summer and “bad girl” Rachel has stayed out all night with Jason, her rocker boyfriend. When he drops her off at her upscale house, to Rachel’s surprise, Jason casually dumps her. Now feeling upset and depressed, Rachel argues with her father (Frank), who is getting ready to leave for a weekend trip. To show his authority, Frank grounds her until he returns Tuesday. But as a side-note, he asks Rachel to be nice to a new employee he has hired who will be staying in the family guest house.
Hours later, Amy, a beautiful and seemingly-conservative brunette, arrives at Rachel’s front door. As she was told to do, Rachel plays the part of helpful hostess and leads Amy out to the guest house and helps her get settled in. Soon, Rachel and Amy chat over a bottle of wine and become fast friends.
Over the course of the weekend, Rachel and Amy sightsee around Los Angeles and share stories of their past loves and future dreams. Even though they are very different, they fall boots over heels in love. They’re crazy about each other.
But, what will Rachel’s father think when he finds out?
