Fantasia Barinno has started this new year off on a bad foot already. A few days ago the American Idol winner sparked controversy when she posted a picture of herself striking a dance pose with a caption that read: “I Rise ABOVE IT ALL!!! THE WORLD IS GONE MAD. KIDS, THE GOVERNMENT THE church House … Everybody Trying!!!!!!! Its a lot that going on that the Bible speaks about we should Not be doing. Weed legal in some places, Gay Marriage Legal BUT YET IM JUDGED!!! I’m not doing Nothing for you … My Life!!!!”
It wasn’t long before the angry mob of Fantasia followers spewed angry comments back about the anti-gay caption.
However, Barrino was shocked and appalled people actually thought she was against the gays. She claimed that bloggers took her caption the wrong way and said, “I, Fantasia Monique Barrino, don’t judge anyone because I don’t want to be judged. The gay community is one of my largest supporters. I support the gay community as they support me. Bloggers please stop misrepresenting the facts.”
Perhaps her words were taken the wrong way. I mean, it is easy to misconstrue such broken English like what was written under the picture, but maybe next time the singer will stick to what she knows, which isn’t writing, apparently.
Nor is it the sanction of marriage either. Ironically, the singer dishes out Bible talk even though she had an affair with a married man in 2010. This incident may have brought attention back to the singer, who has been out of the spotlight for a few years now, though I’m not sure it’s the kind of attention she wants right before her new album, due out January 8.
