Today, April 27, 2009, marks the first day that gay and lesbian couples can apply for marriage licenses in Iowa!

On April 3, 2009, the Iowa Supreme Court ruled that two people are eligible to marry in Iowa if they are over 18 years old, not currently married, and pay a $35 registration fee. And, couples do not have to be Iowa residents to marry in the state.
